The Colour of Copper
I strive to encourage people, through my painting, to open doors where they may wish to explore — always intending to bring fresh and exciting perspectives to the often unseen realities. See available paintings.
Arriving from Sweden, as a child, to Canada’s west coast — attracted to dramatic light and colour — I enjoy capturing deserts, seas, flowers, vignettes of the corners of this world — rich vibrant colour in bold strokes, always inviting the viewer into a journey of discovery.
Inspired by O’Keeffe, Hopper, Gavazzi, Degas and Caravaggio, I developed my own style at the Instituto Allende in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico; the Emily Carr Art & Design and Capilano Universities in Vancouver; in workshops with accomplished artists; and of course painting, painting, painting (Malcolm Gladwell’s 10,000 hours).
